TREATMENT
I Guarantee, Banter productions

THE BRIEF
To produce a music video in the style of Warp.

TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience of our music video will be: People aged 16-30, male, are the ethnicity , and will likely be part of the sub culture of Hip hop and Rap. They will be in any of the Social Groups as it will be accessible to all.

SEGMENT SYNOPSIS AND HOW IT RELATES TO THE BRIEF
The music video is related to the brief as it is art house and gritty. There is little to non narrative as we have decided to o a music video which is mainly performance as this is very stereotypical of Hip Hop.
KEY MILESTONES
  1. Pre-Production Planning (27th October – 10th November)
  2. Filming (10th November – 12th December)
  3. Editing dates (19th December - 30th March)
  4. Launch Dates (13th April)

EQUIPMENT
Camera (For Filming), Tripod (To steady footage), Lights (For when its to dark to use natural light)

PROPS AND MODELS
William Kirby – “Star Persona, The Rapper”

HEALTH AND SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
  1. There is an appointed First Aider at UTC Sheffield named Miss Simpson
  2. We will ensure the safety of all equipment by never leaving it unattended.
  3. We will never endanger any of the filming crew or actors by never taking them to a dangerous location.

LEGAL AND ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS
We will need to follow certain Ofcom guidelines. Our music video is a rap performance following white hip-hop stereotype.

It’s very important to follow Ofcom regulations as if we don't follow them our music video can't be shown.

The watershed is a time set  by the government so nothing offensive or inappropriate is shown to viewers who do not want to see. This is mainly used to protect the younger audiences so they do not get exposed to any inappropriate information.

Our product is going to be shown on MTV, AKA, Worldstar Hip-Hop.

Our music is copyright free therefore this is fine for us.

We only have one actor who's is in the video who agrees to this being broadcasted and published.

Ofcom Guidelines;
1.14, We have to follow this guidelines as there is taboo language in our song, so we will have to show the music video after the watershed.
“Screaming fuck the haters”
1.20, We have to understand this regulation. As our lyrics have sexual material, however we are not going to show any sexual scenes, but we will play song lyrics, which are sexual.

“We going to make a porno, watch it on the flat screen”

LO3: (Contingency) Rushes Reviews

Location 1

This location overall has some good moments for quick cut away moments where the viewer will not be able to see the footage for very long, this is because Will (actor) is smiling a lot which contradicts the whole style of music video were going for, this being aggressive and angry. Also there are a lot of moments where Will breaks character, for example, talking to the film crew and not knowing the words making the lip-syncing look unbelievable. However, there are some short moments where the lip-syncing is believable and Will does look in character, these can be used.
Location 9
The only problem with footage is too dark this does not match the rest of the video, however Will (actor) gestures and lip syncing. Will's costume is okay because it's different however he has worn the jacket before in video. Also the top of Will's head has been chopped off this is because the camera was too close to the shot. The location seems quite similar to other we have filmed.
Location 2
This is footage on the top floor of the abandoned building. The footage of this location is rather poor, as most of the time Will's head is out of shot a lot and the mouthing of the words is not very clear. Also a lot of the footage is off topic. However some of the footage is useable as it is a canted angle a unique costume and is well filmed. Another problem with this footage is the darkness of the environment as it is sometime hard to see. About 1:30 we see some useable footage as the lip-syncing is goo and the brightness is ok, although it would still need brightening up in the editing stage. Overall this is a fairly decent bit of footage with some footage that could be used in there music video.
Location 3
This is footage from on top of the car park, this is handheld footage at the start, this footage is very useable at the start as the arrogance is seen on Will's face and most of the time Will is in shot from about the waist up. The footage of the camera on the tripod is generally very good as well, although there is sometimes a slight problem with the wind, and Will being a bit too close at the start. It is generally quite good. Although it is a bit dark but this can be lightened up in the editing stage. The location is fairly stereotypical of the genre of song and the outfit suits the rest of the costumes.
Location 4
This location is overall very usable as Will is playing his character very well, this meaning he is very aggressive and angry. The lip-syncing is done a lot better as Will has learned the song through repetition. However some moments during this footage Wills head is cut off at the top of the screen, this is because we did not place the camera high enough up. The handheld version of this footage is unusable swell as it is far too shaky and unfocused to see what is going on. And again on the handheld footage, Wills head is sometimes cut off the video, this is because the camera is too close to him.
Locations 5
This location is good as Will is playing his role well and is lip-synching the song well. will has learned most of the lyric and only stutters and doesn't know what to say in a few clips. Some of the footage has been ruined because of whoever was filming getting his fingers in the shot. Most of the footage is still usable if cut properly.
Location 6
This location is also good will did good lip-synching but was distracted by the public around us. the footage of the stationary camera is good but sometimes the top of wills head is cut off as he gets too close to the camera. The handheld footage is not that good as tripod one but some can also be used most of it is too shaky and unsuitable for our video.
Location 7
This footage is very good as we record the whole song this means we have footage for every part of the song. The acting is very good not counting the bit when he gets distracted by some people walking past. The lip-synching is good but you can see that he is sometimes reading the lyrics but overall the footage is very good.
location 8
In this location, Virtually all the footage is usable, due to Will lip-syncing very well as he has the words in front of him, this is an advantage of filming in the sound booth. The background audio will be edited out. There are a few moments in the footage, where Will breaks character due to the distractions going on in the background, for example the lights are turned off and the footage turns pitch black, and the people in the background talking to him directly. However this is not a major problem as it does not happen frequently and we still have lots of footage that is useable.
Location 10
This is footage of different saline and graffiti shots and angle movements. This is for when we cut away from the main footage of the actor. The footage is generally decent and useable for its purpose. However at 0:53 Andrey walks into the shot and begins to speak and generally mess around. This is ok as we can still use some of that bit of footage as we only need it for a few seconds for jump cutting and other cut always etc. The brightness of the footage is generally quite good and all the footage seems useable for the purpose it was filmed for.
Location 11

The locations of the graffiti is good what can use for cut aways, however the shots in side the building are too dark and have too much movement. one the shot has the lighting what reflects of the wall this is looks unprofessional cause you can see the artificial lighting. The shot start we tried to blur in, this we liked as we thought is would look good as an opening. We didn't like the setting of the inside as we thought is was to grungy for your genre. At 2:02 the shot is to wobbly and is unusable, this is like all the shots inside.
